Solidarity is a new left alternative

Solidarity came out of the anti-austerity campaigns in 2013 and 2014. We organised for mass non-payment of the hated water charges and forced the government back. We've been at the forefront of the movements for marriage equality and for abortion rights. We've stood side by side with workers striking to defend pay, terms and conditions and against privatisation. Solidarity means supporting all those campaigning for a better, fairer society.

Now is the time for Solidarity

We live in a deeply unequal society. The gap between the "haves" and the "have-nots" expands daily. The political parties of the establishment stand over and defend a system rigged in the interests of the super-rich and multi-national corporations. At the same time, our democratic rights are routinely held back, disregarded and eroded in the preservation of a conservative status quo.

Women need abortion rights, equal pay and a society determined to smash on sexism, discrimination and violence against women. Workers need a living wage, pay restoration after 10 years of austerity and strong unions to protect and deepen our rights at work. Young people need free education and a future beyond a low-skill, low-pay economy and mass emigration. We need a society that's invests in decent public services, decent jobs and our communities. We need a free, publicly funded national health service to look after us when we need it and an education system free from an over-riding influence of the church.

For the millions, not the millionaires

We need a different system run in the interests of the millions, not the millionaires and we need a powerful left movement to win it.

We want to help bring all those fighting for change together into a new left movement that can take on the establishment and the rotten capitalist system they defend. The movements behind Jeremy Corbyn, Bernie Sanders and Jean-Luc Melenchon in France show the huge support for left ideas. Don't wait. If you agree, sign up to support our campaign for a new left movement today.
